Information Sheet

Purpose:

To help performers (athletes, coaches, exercisers, musicians, speakers, etc.) achieve balance and growth in their performance area and in their daily lives. The purpose of Competing Mind is to make mental skills training available for all and to provide individuals/teams with the skills and tools necessary to increase awareness, find motivation, build confidence, maintain focus, and overcome challenges that arise in their performance area. I also strive to understand the performers definition of success and aid them in their journey to achieving this.

What I Do:

Assist clients in becoming aware of their potential and enhance their ability to use their mind to help them perform their best.

What I do not do:

My goal is to help you reach your potential by using mental skills training specific to you. I am a sport & performance psychologist / mental performance consultant. I do not deal with clinical issues such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, etc. If clinical issues do arise, I will refer you to a qualified professional such as a clinical psychologist.

How This Relationship Works:

It is my understanding that effective sport psychology work begins with an effective relationship between client and practitioner. I am always open to questions, feedback, and any thoughts you may have in regards to our work together.

The following are some expectations in this journey:

1.      Communication: With your consent, we will communicate electronically via email, video calls (google meet), phone call, etc. In agreeing to this, you understand the risks that come with communicating via online means.

2.      Intake Session: In our first meeting, we will discuss what sport psychology/mental skills training is, and I will ask you questions to create a holistic understanding of you, your performance goals, what effects your performance, and what you can expect from our work together.

3.      Full Disclosure: For this work to be effective, open discussion and full disclosure of information relevant to our work together are essential. I can help you more if we talk about everything relevant to your goals.

4.      Appointments: Appointments will be made upon mutual agreement. If you must cancel an agreed upon appointment, please do so at least 24-hours before the arranged appointment.
